HIKO Non-Surgical Noselift (PDO Threads)
HIKO is a doctor-performed, nonsurgical nose-contouring procedure that uses absorbable PDO threads to support and subtly refine selected areas of the nose.
At Adarna, we approach the nose with precision and restraint. The goal is not to force every patient into one ideal profile. It is to understand your natural structure and determine whether a small adjustment to the bridge, tip, or overall contour can create better facial harmony.
What can HIKO PDO Threads improve?
For carefully selected patients, HIKO may help:
-
Add subtle definition to the nasal bridge
-
Create the appearance of a slightly higher or straighter bridge
-
Provide modest support or projection to the nasal tip
-
Improve the appearance of a small dorsal hump through contouring
-
Create a more balanced-looking side profile
The degree of change is limited. HIKO is intended for refinement, not complete reshaping.
How does HIKO work?
Dr. Leigh places absorbable PDO threads along carefully selected areas of the nose. The threads provide temporary structural support and may create a subtle change in contour or projection.
The number, size, direction, and placement of threads depend on your anatomy and the exact thread system being used. We do not use a fixed number of threads for every patient.
What happens during treatment?
1. Nasal and facial assessment
Dr. Leigh examines your nasal bridge, tip, skin thickness, facial proportions, previous treatments, and treatment goals.
2. Medical and procedural history
You must tell us about previous nose fillers, threads, surgery, implants, injuries, infections, or breathing concerns. Earlier procedures can change the anatomy and may increase the difficulty or risk of treatment.
3. Personalized thread placement
If HIKO is appropriate, the treatment direction and number of threads are planned for your nose. We use only the amount required for a considered result.
4. Aftercare and follow-up
We explain how to protect the treated area, what reactions to expect, and which symptoms require immediate attention.
Will HIKO make my nose smaller?
No. Threads cannot remove bone or cartilage, reduce a genuinely wide nasal structure, correct a deviated septum, or improve a medical breathing problem.
HIKO changes the appearance of the nose by adding support or projection. In some patients, improved bridge or tip definition may make the nose appear more balanced, but it does not physically make the nose smaller.
Is HIKO the same as surgical rhinoplasty?
No.
HIKO does not provide the degree, precision, or durability of surgical rhinoplasty. It cannot correct major structural concerns or permanently reshape the nose.
It may be considered by patients seeking a smaller, temporary refinement who understand its limitations and do not want surgery at this time.
When will I see results?
A change in support or contour may be visible shortly after treatment, but swelling can affect the early appearance.
Allow the nose to settle before judging the final result. The amount of improvement varies, and published evidence for PDO nose threads remains limited.
Is there downtime?
Temporary effects may include:
-
Swelling
-
Bruising
-
Redness
-
Tenderness or pain
-
Tightness or pressure
-
Temporary unevenness
-
Skin dimpling
-
Visible or palpable threads
Do not schedule treatment immediately before an important event.

A Subtle lift. Still completely you.
HIKO gently refines the nose for a more balanced, defined look. Natural-looking results rely on your doctor’s judgment, understanding of facial anatomy, and eye for proportion, so every adjustment complements your features and still feels like you.
Refinement, considered from every angle.
Every nose has its own anatomy, proportions, and structural considerations, so HIKO results vary from person to person. Each treatment relies on the doctor’s anatomical knowledge, clinical judgment, and eye for balance, with the aim of creating subtle refinement that complements your features and still feels like you.

If there are other concerns you would like to address, these treatments may be worth exploring. The right option depends on your goals, suitability, and timing, and can be discussed during consultation.
