Forehead Lines (per unit)
A smoother forehead should not come at the cost of an expression that still feels like you.
Forehead lines can make the upper face look more tired or tense, but the muscle creating them also lifts the eyebrows and helps keep the eyes looking open. Treating this area well is not simply about removing movement. It is about finding the balance between smoother skin, comfortable brows, and natural expression.
What is Forehead Botox?
Horizontal forehead lines develop through repeated contraction of the frontalis muscle when raising the eyebrows, expressing surprise, or unconsciously lifting the brow.
Dr. Leigh carefully places botulinum toxin type A into selected areas of the frontalis to temporarily reduce excessive contraction. As the movement softens, horizontal lines may appear smoother and less deeply folded.
Forehead Botox may be suitable if you:
- Notice prominent horizontal lines when raising your eyebrows
- Feel that your forehead looks more tense or tired than you feel
- Want smoother-looking skin while preserving natural expression
- Prefer a temporary, non-surgical treatment
- Understand that deeply etched lines may soften without disappearing completely
- Are comfortable returning for maintenance when appropriate
When will I see the result?
Reduced muscle activity may begin within several days, but the treatment should be allowed approximately two weeks to settle.
The forehead may gradually appear smoother while retaining an amount of movement appropriate for your anatomy and preferences. Results vary according to muscle strength, brow position, line depth, skin quality, the botulinum toxin product used, and individual response.
Will my forehead look frozen?
The goal is to reduce excessive folding—not remove every trace of expression.
The frontalis is the primary muscle that raises the eyebrows. If it is weakened too much, the forehead may feel heavy and the brows may sit lower. Some patients also unconsciously use this muscle to compensate for naturally low brows, loose upper-eyelid skin, or eyelid weakness.
Dr. Leigh checks whether you rely on your forehead to keep your eyes feeling open before deciding whether treatment is appropriate and how conservatively it should be performed.
Why does Dr. Leigh’s skill matter?
The product alone does not create a natural result. Forehead Botox depends heavily on the doctor’s understanding of muscle balance, facial anatomy, injection depth, placement, and restraint.
Before treatment, Dr. Leigh assesses your forehead at rest and while you raise your brows, frown, and move naturally. She considers forehead height, brow position, eyelid support, muscle strength, and existing asymmetry rather than following one standard injection pattern.
The difference between a frozen forehead and a naturally smoother one often lies in knowing what movement to preserve.
Should my frown lines be treated at the same time?
The forehead and frown muscles work in opposition: the frontalis lifts the brows, while the glabellar muscles pull them inward and downward. Treating them without considering their relationship may alter brow balance.
Depending on your anatomy and the exact botulinum toxin product used, simultaneous treatment of the forehead and frown-line area may be recommended.
How long does the result last?
Results are temporary and commonly soften over approximately three to four months, although duration differs between patients and botulinum toxin products.
Maintenance should be based on reassessment rather than an automatic schedule. Dr. Leigh will consider the return of movement, brow comfort, and your previous response.
Is there downtime?
Most patients can return to ordinary activities after treatment. Temporary redness, tenderness, small raised bumps, headache, or bruising may occur around the injection points.
The most beautiful Forehead Botox result
The most beautiful result is not a forehead that never moves. It is one that looks smoother and more composed while your face continues to express everything that makes it yours.
Before
After 3 weeks
The expression remains. The lines soften.
Even with the eyebrows raised, forehead lines appear visibly softened for a smoother, brighter, and more refreshed look. A natural-looking result relies on the doctor’s understanding of facial movement, precise dosing, and judgment in softening lines while preserving balanced expression.
Your next step should feel just as personal.
If there are other concerns you would like to address, these treatments may be worth exploring. The right option depends on your goals, suitability, and timing, and can be discussed during consultation.
