When dark patches keep drawing your attention, a more even complexion can feel quietly freeing.
Melasma and stubborn pigmentation can affect more than how your skin looks. They can influence how comfortable you feel without makeup, in photographs, or under bright light.
At Adarna Medical Aesthetics, Cosmelan is not presented as a promise to erase every spot. We approach pigmentation with patience, medical guidance, and respect for the skin you live in.
The goal is clearer, more even-looking skin that feels cared for, not stripped or forced into an unrealistic idea of perfection.
More Than a Peel
Although commonly called the Cosmelan Peel, Cosmelan is more accurately a structured depigmentation program.
It begins with one professional mask application at Adarna, followed by a prescribed home-care protocol and consistent photoprotection for approximately six months.
The in-clinic treatment begins the process. Your daily care helps sustain it.
What Can Cosmelan Help Improve?
Following a proper assessment, Cosmelan may be considered for:
-
Melasma
-
Sun-related facial pigmentation
-
Post-inflammatory marks, including selected acne marks
-
Uneven-looking skin tone
-
Areas of persistent facial discoloration
-
Dullness associated with uneven pigmentation
Not every brown spot is melasma. Some pigmented lesions require a different diagnosis or should not be treated with a depigmenting peel. This is why Adarna examines your skin before recommending Cosmelan.
Questions Patients Usually Ask
When will I see results?
Some patients begin noticing a more even-looking tone within the first few weeks, with more visible improvement around the first month. Changes may continue throughout the home-treatment phase.
Results vary according to the type and depth of pigmentation, hormonal and environmental triggers, skin response, home-care consistency, and sun exposure.
Will Cosmelan permanently remove melasma?
No responsible treatment can promise that.
Melasma is a chronic, relapse-prone pigmentary condition. Cosmelan may help reduce its visible appearance, but heat, ultraviolet radiation, visible light, hormones, irritation, and other individual triggers can contribute to recurrence.
Continued photoprotection and an appropriate maintenance routine remain important even after the initial program.
Is it painful?
Cosmelan is not a relaxing facial. Warmth, tingling, stinging, tightness, redness, and peeling can occur.
The early phase may be uncomfortable, particularly when Cosmelan 2 is introduced. We adjust your plan according to your skin’s response rather than encouraging you to push through severe irritation.
Is there downtime?
Yes. This is a visibly active treatment.
Redness, sensitivity, dryness, and peeling may affect how comfortable you feel attending work or social events. The intensity and duration vary, and irritation may appear intermittently during the early home phase.
We do not recommend scheduling the initial application immediately before an important event, beach trip, or period of unavoidable sun and heat exposure.
