Sometimes, it isn’t your clothes or posture making your neckline feel crowded. Prominent upper trapezius muscles can create a raised, squared appearance, even when you are completely at rest.
Traptox is Adarna’s doctor-led shoulder-contouring treatment for patients who want a softer shoulder line and a more open-looking neckline—without changing the features that make them unmistakably themselves.
The goal is not to make you look smaller. It is to help your silhouette feel calmer, lighter, and more refined.
What is Traptox?
Traptox uses carefully placed botulinum toxin type A injections to temporarily reduce excessive activity and bulk in the upper trapezius muscles.
As the treated muscles gradually relax, the shoulders may appear less elevated or bulky. This can create a smoother transition from the neck to the shoulders and make the neckline appear more elongated.
Traptox does not physically lengthen your neck or change your bones. Its effect comes from reducing upper-trapezius prominence when muscle bulk is contributing to the shape of your shoulders.
Traptox may be suitable if you:
-
Feel that your shoulders look raised, tense, or overly prominent at rest
-
Want a softer, more elegant neck-to-shoulder line
-
Have upper-trapezius muscle bulk that does not change significantly with weight loss
-
Prefer gradual contour refinement without surgery
-
Understand that preserving comfortable shoulder function is more important than pursuing the smallest possible muscle
When will I see the result?
Reduced muscle activity may begin within approximately one to two weeks. Visible shoulder-contouring changes develop more gradually, commonly becoming noticeable over four to eight weeks and sometimes continuing to evolve for up to twelve weeks.
Results vary according to muscle size, anatomy, activity level, treatment plan, and individual response.
How dramatic will the change be?
Traptox is designed for gradual refinement rather than an overnight transformation. Patients with genuine upper-trapezius hypertrophy may notice a softer shoulder slope and a more open-looking neckline.
If your shoulder shape is influenced mainly by bone structure, fat distribution, skeletal alignment, or posture, Traptox may produce limited visible change. Your Adarna doctor will explain what is realistically achievable before treatment.
Can it relieve shoulder pain or tension?
Some patients may notice that their shoulders feel less tense, but Traptox should not be presented as a guaranteed treatment for pain, poor posture, migraine, cervical-spine conditions, or every form of neck and shoulder tightness.
Persistent pain, numbness, restricted movement, or weakness requires a separate medical assessment. The evidence for botulinum toxin in upper-back myofascial pain remains mixed.
Is there downtime?
Most patients can return to ordinary light activities after treatment. Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, small bumps, or bruising may occur around the injection points.
Follow the aftercare instructions given by your Adarna doctor. Avoid pressing or massaging the treated muscles unless specifically advised, and ask us before returning to strenuous upper-body training.
