Sometimes, what remains after the breakout is harder to forget than the breakout itself.
Lingering acne scars, uneven texture, visible pores, and skin that no longer looks as rested as it feels can quietly affect how comfortable you are without makeup or filters.
The PRP Vampire Facial is Adarna’s doctor-led microneedling treatment for patients who want gradual skin renewal using platelet-rich plasma prepared from their own blood.
The goal is not to transform your face. It is to help your skin look smoother, fresher, and more naturally refined.
What is a PRP Vampire Facial?
Despite its dramatic nickname, the treatment is based on a straightforward medical process.
A small amount of your blood is collected and processed to separate platelet-rich plasma, or PRP. This concentrated portion of plasma contains platelets and signaling proteins involved in the body’s normal healing response.
Microneedling then creates controlled microchannels in the skin. The prepared PRP is applied according to Adarna’s clinical protocol as an adjunct to the procedure.
PRP is not a dermal filler, does not contain live stem cells, and does not permanently add volume to the face.
This treatment may be suitable if you:
-
Want to soften the appearance of certain atrophic acne scars
-
Feel that your skin texture looks rough or uneven
-
Are concerned about visible pores or early fine lines
-
Want gradual improvement without adding facial volume
-
Prefer a treatment that uses material prepared from your own blood
Not every acne scar responds in the same way. Deep ice-pick, rolling, boxcar, or tethered scars may require different procedures or a combination plan.
Dr. Leigh will assess your scar type and skin condition before recommending treatment.
What results can I expect?
Your skin may initially look plumper because of temporary swelling. This is not the final result.
Early improvements in freshness and texture may become noticeable as the skin recovers. Changes associated with collagen remodeling develop more gradually over the following weeks and months.
Evidence is more supportive for PRP as an adjunct to microneedling for certain atrophic acne scars than for broad claims of facial “rejuvenation.” It should not be expected to erase deep scars, dramatically tighten loose skin, or reproduce the effect of fillers, lasers, or surgery.
How many sessions will I need?
A series is commonly needed because skin remodeling develops gradually. The appropriate number and spacing of treatments will depend on your scar type, skin condition, recovery, and response.
Maintenance may be considered, but repeated treatment should be based on clinical need—not simply performed as often as possible.
Is there downtime?
Redness, warmth, tenderness, swelling, tightness, pinpoint bleeding, dryness, or fine flaking may occur. The skin may resemble a moderate sunburn during the early recovery period.
Why does Dr. Leigh’s technique matter?
A Vampire Facial is not simply drawing blood and rolling needles across the skin.
Treatment quality depends on correct patient selection, sterile blood handling, appropriate PRP preparation, accurate microneedling depth, and knowing which scars should—or should not—be treated this way.
Dr. Leigh adjusts the procedure according to the thickness of your skin, the type of scarring present, and your risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation.
The goal is controlled stimulation with responsible healing—not maximum bleeding.
