Barbie Arms is Adarna’s doctor-led upper-arm contouring treatment for patients who want a softer, more tapered-looking arm silhouette without surgery. The goal is not to make your body conform to an unrealistic ideal. It is to create a subtle refinement that feels more balanced with your natural proportions.
What is Barbie Arms?
Barbie Arms uses carefully placed botulinum toxin type A injections to temporarily reduce the activity and prominence of selected upper-arm muscles. Depending on your anatomy, treatment may involve the deltoid, triceps, or another specifically assessed muscle group.
As the treated muscles gradually become less active, their bulk may decrease and the upper arms may develop a softer, less prominent outline.
Barbie Arms does not remove fat, tighten loose skin, improve cellulite, or change the length or bone structure of your arms. It is most appropriate when muscle prominence—not excess fat or skin laxity—is contributing to the concern.
Barbie Arms may be suitable if you:

When will I see the result?
Muscle activity may begin to decrease within approximately one to two weeks, but visible contouring takes longer because the treated muscle must gradually reduce in prominence.
Changes may become noticeable from around four weeks and continue developing over eight to twelve weeks. Results vary according to the muscle treated, its original size, your activity level, the botulinum toxin product used, and your individual response.
How dramatic will the change be?
Barbie Arms is intended to create gradual refinement rather than dramatic weight loss or an instantly smaller arm.
Patients whose arm shape is strongly influenced by muscle hypertrophy may notice a softer outer contour. If the concern is caused mainly by fat, loose skin, bone structure, or overall body proportions, the visible change may be limited.
Will Barbie Arms reduce arm fat or loose skin?
No. Botulinum toxin acts on muscle activity; it does not dissolve fat or tighten excess skin.
Treating the muscle when fat or skin laxity is the primary concern may produce little improvement and could make loose tissue more noticeable as muscle volume decreases. Adarna will recommend a different treatment approach when Barbie Arms is not the appropriate solution.
Is there downtime?
Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, small injection marks, or bruising may occur. Most patients can return to light daily activities, but the arms may feel tired or weaker as the treatment begins to take effect.
